About the Event

Please join us for an entertaining presentation on two other lesser-known First Ladies who blazed a trail ahead of

Eleanor Roosevelt.   Helen “Nellie” Taft and Lou Hoover each accomplished several important “firsts”

during the single terms of their husbands’ presidencies, paving the way for all the following

First Ladies.

Presented by Joan M. Griffen

Joan is an accomplished writer, author, story teller and teacher.   She currently has several local speaking events at OLLI @ Sierra College.   Added on bonus - she will be signing copies of her new book "Forces of Nature" - a gripping adventure tale of 3 women over fifty that hiked the 200-mile John Muir Trail.

Light Refreshments served.
