Branch AAUW Project

Our Branch offers scholarships to women who are returning to college at Sierra College and meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Must be enrolled in 12 units at the time of application
  2. Must be enrolled in 12 units at the time they receive the scholarship
  3. Must have a 3.0 GPA or better
  4. Must have completed 24 units at time they receive scholarship
  5. Must be a resident of Placer County
  6. Must be re-entry women with financial need
  7. Must complete the Sierra College Foundation Application
  8. Must submit a letter to the branch detailing their goals and how the AAUW scholarship will assist them in meeting these goals
  9. We will interview and select the winner(s)

 

Update on our scholarship recipients for this year:

Denise Nichols-Telford graduated from Chico State University with a BA degree in Social Science--with focus on Sociology and Global Issues.

 

 

 

Our continuing scholarship recipient, Nicholle Sanford, plans to complete her education at Western Career College in December and go on for a BS degree.

Screening of applicants was done on May 12 to sponsor a new reentry woman. Danielle Rigney, a forty-four-year-old mother of four was selected. She is currently enrolled in the Sierra College Registered Nursing program and plans to complete this program in December of 2009.
