Our Branch supports the goals of AAUW.

Each year money from dues, fundraising and donations is designated for key projects. Funds from our Branch are earmarked for:

California Branch Projects

California AAUW encourages branches to support two projects, Tech Trek and Speech Trek.

  • Tech Trek is a week-long residential math/science camp for girls entering the eighth grade, usually at Stanford. Our branch sponsors several girls each year and many have gone on to pursue science courses.

  • Speech Trek is a new program involving a speech contest for high-school girls and boys on the subject of AAUW’s theme: “The Pay Gap”. The contest begins at the branch level and winners progress to district level, from which three will be awarded prizes at the 2009 state convention.

Branch AAUW Project

Our Branch offers scholarships to women who are returning to college at Sierra College. After interviewing the candidates, we select the best qualified candidates. We form a relationship with the women to give them support, both financial and mentoring.
